Dragonball Movie Reboot

A rumored reboot of the live-action Dragon Ball movie franchise. There’s nothing official to suggest this is real yet, just some news tidbits from IMDb stating it’s been announced and is currently in production for release in 2012.

Confirmed to be a fake listing.

If a reboot of the Dragonball Evolution movie does ever get announced, we will provide information on it here.

if they do make another dbz movie they need another director to do it.plus they need to fix the whole thing. i hope they do make a sequel. what went wrong in the 1st one is the kI blast it looks competely fake. and the 2nd thing they need to fix is they all need to were the suits all the time. and the last thing is picolo was just plan crap he doesnt look like a namikian!!!! if they fix those then it will be a great movie. that what happend to some movies transformers for example 1st one was good and the second one was plan crap and the third one i heard it is really great case Michle Bay. he should do direct DBZ franchize.

I would prefer a DBZ movie from the fight with Raditz to the fight with Frieza (basically a direct retelling of the manga/anime). If the movie’s successful make a complete DBZ trilogy with Cell and Buu, it should be 2-3 hours long so it isn’t rushed and can work very well and attract many people to the brilliant franchise. The budget would be high (for the effects) but its like sci-fi/fantasy it could be as high grossing as the Star Wars series or Transformers.

Hugh Hackman would play a perfect vegeta but I ultimate dragonball fan. And I think they could do a whole lot better On dragon ball reboot making goku 12 and not 18 and him being naive and not knowin difference between girls and guys and stuff like that. Db evolution had none of that not even the humor the original show and manga had such as goku eating alot and yamcha being afraid of girls and meter roshi being more of a perv and launch and krillin actually being in the movie and not skipping the entire rr army and more better worlds martial arts tournament also goku needs a tail in evolution he had no tail and great ape wiz saiyan not created by piccolo. Also they need lookout and Korin tower. Also goku needs tail. I NEED MORE TAIL ACTION. I need gokus tail also him whirring only one offit for like most the movie and not wearing normal clothes and after that then movie would be perfect also better graphics Reply if u want gokus tail. BRING BACK TAIL AND DRAGON BALL LIKE A NEW SERIES WITH GOKU JR AND VEGETA JR. OR MAKE DRAGONBALL AF A SHOW

If a new DBZ movie should b made,it should not be a sequel but a completely fresh new look that sticks to the original franchise it should have been in the 1st place.DB Evolution was to every DBZ fan a great dissappointment which should never had been made.Any attempt for a live action movie of DBZ had potentail for a box office hit much like X-men,Spiderman,Lord of the Rings etc.
Evolution did just the opposite thanks to poor production & cast selection.Their was so much potentail for a big budget production thanks to the worlwide popularity of the DB franchise.
First of all I believe a respected Asian production team should be at the helm of a live DBZ who are much more familiar with the characters, action sequences & storyline.John Woo or Stephen Chow(who incidentially is also one of the producer’s of the Evolution movie) should direct the movie, and Chow knows how to bring humour to a movie.I also firmly believe most of the more main characters should be played by famous Asian actors.I remember when the first rumour for a live DBZ movie came about way back,Jet Li would have been cast as Goku & Mark Dacascos as Vegeta.I was very excited then & as u can see it never happened & an aging Li would’nt suffice for the lead anymore.
Although cartoon characters are adapted to movie versions, they should try to emulate the characters as accurate as possible which are my main concern.Goku’s hair for one dont’ need a CG make-over unless he turns Super Saiyan. The make-up department should’nt have a problem with that.
Carefull attention to details in any adaptation is the key to any blockbuster.Let’s just hope they stick to this formula.

If they really want to capture the battle architecture of Dragonball/DBZ in whatever reboot they decide to do, they need to use the fight engine they used in Matrix Revolutions for the final battle between Neo and Smith. Everything would be so much more epic, as is what dragonball in any form deserves.

If they do a reboot, definitely get KIDS to play the key characters, aside from the obvious. Also, since we all know any installation of dragonball, be it the original, Z, or GT, is epic in it’s own nature, for any fight scene they need to use the CGI battle engine used in Matrix Revolutions. There were rumors that using it in the end of that movie was a test run FOR the live action DB movie, yet was never used. It made me a sad panda.

No, they need to make a reboot after the pathetic attempt of Evolution. That movie was NOT DBZ, I don’t know what the heck that was. I think they need to start from the beginning with dragon ball with YOUNG Goku, not suddenly teenage Goku in the wrong point in the story. Yes, yes and yes to whoever mentioned the tail, I couldn’t agree more. Bring back the tail and hair of Goku! Also, I do not think that that this reboot should be played by any Asian or Japanese actors or actresses, with a few exceptions. Even though, it is a an anime, which would technically make then Japanese, none of the character really look Japanese. Goku for example looks more american to me. The only exceptions I think would be Korin, (if he is played by a human), Yajirobe, Krillin, Mercenary Tao, Grandpa Gohan and a few others I may have missed from the dragon ball series. Also maybe Master Roshi depending on your perspective of him, but he could go either way. You would also need Native American actors too for Upa and Bora to make it more realistic. But that is just my opinion though, I’m sure that others may disagree and even that’s okay. Perhaps Michael Bay and Joss Whedon could learn about all three series of DB, DBZ and DBGT and then personally work with Akira Toriyama. If done right, this could be a real master piece. It is owed to all the DB, DBZ and DBGT fans after that horrible display of Evolution. I don’t even call it DB: Evolution because I don’t even consider it apart of the franchise that it claims to be. So to me, it’s just Evolution, period!
